Saint Petka Muldavska Monastery reduced to ashes

All the abbot wing, a part of the saint`s relics and priceless book archives from the Monastery library were destroyed last night in the firestorm. The fiery tounges spared the Monastery church and the hiding place of Vasil Levski. Everything happened at about eight o`clock in the evening. The abbess Mother Yulita, felt that the television had stopped several times. The fire grew for several minutes. The firemen came immediately and succeeded to save a part of the abbot wing. Their work was strongly complicated by the lack of water and the difficult access to the monastery.
There will be a monastery hare, as it has always been. Until now it has been fired and rebuilt five times. This was the promiss of metropolitan Nikolay in front of the monastery doors. More about the monastery see here.See more
