The Mass Psichosis Called a Secondary-School Students` Welfare Ball

[23/05/2010]

The folk industry is nothing to the mass psychosis called "a secondary-school students` welfare evening". Many girls with heavy silk dresses, golden jewelries and 20-centimeters stilts go for the most important eveninig in their life. But where is the point? Is it in the dresses that cost 1000 leva or is it , if it`s true according to a girl`s confession, in the fact that the parents have spent 10 000 leva for this special evening. The teenage girls look like pop-folk singers, although they go up the luxury hotel stairs with the self-confidence of Holliwood stars, who are going to grasp an Oscar award. Men are not men anymore. The boys with classical suits are not many. The other boys have stretched their whole imagination in order to attract attention with their latest freak idea without taking into account what is the event about. Alongside the relatives mop their tears, but their weeping is killed by the horns. There are always exceptions. But this time again the simple is shaded by the gaudiness.
